Theatrical Debut

Caroline’s little school has a “Winter Concert” each year, and everyone in the Toddler classes and up participates.  This year, Caroline’s class did three songs: the ABC’s, Mr. Sun, and Row Row Row Your Boat.  We know that she can sing Row Row Row Your Boat, because she practiced it pretty constantly for the week before the concert, singing, “Woah, woah, woah, woah” at random times throughout each day.

When it came to the actual concert, she was a pro.  She didn’t actually sing anything, but neither did any of her friends (half of them were falling asleep since the concert didn’t start until 7:00 p.m., which is awful close to their bedtime).  Still, I was proud (okay, let’s be honest – moved to tears) of her sitting up there like a big kid, clapping for herself, swaying a bit with the beat, and raising her rhythm sticks like a champ at the end.  It’s clearly the beginning of a long performance career. :)

I edited the video for length so you might be able to manage it – it’s still pretty long, but that hasn’t stopped me from watching it repeatedly.  You’ll have to turn up the volume to hear the “singing” once the background music fades out… Hope you enjoy [SweetPea’s the one in the pink leggings, flower dress, and brown bow on her head; also she’s the tallest one]:
