She put it back in!

Caroline has all kinds of new tricks these days.  She’s using her hands a lot more and can grab and move stuff – she’s even put her pacifier back in her mouth a few times by herself!  It’s like a preview of a beautiful future when we don’t have to retrieve the thrown-aside-at-a-whim-and-soon-thought-better-of-it binky.

She’s also continuing to roll over obsessively, but she’s starting to realize that being on her belly is not the end of the world, so sometimes she doesn’t scream… at least for a while.  It’s regular now for me to go in to wake her up in the mornings and find her perpendicular to the way she went to sleep and on her belly.  Evidence below:

The main problem with this (aside from the whole “back to sleep” thing) is that her feet keep getting stuck in the rails:

So we got her crib a breathable bumper, which is probably a rip-off, but it keeps her feet inside the crib, which may offer us a tiny bit more sleep. :)

The new coordination and skills means that Caroline’s able to play a lot more these days, as well.  She still LOVES her bouncy chair (jeez, that kid can bounce for a year, I think…), but she’s recently started to sit in the Bumbo chair to watch her mom fix dinner or answer her email or just to play with her little toys – and we just put together the Exersaucer that we bought on Craig’s List last year.  She seems to like it!

Caroline has also been thrilled by her first season of college football.  Seriously, she loves it.  Maybe it’s just because there’s way more action on the TV screen than the baseball and tennis we’ve been watching, but she is glued to the TV for football.  Here’s our little fan watching ESPN GameDay for the first time:

And here are some gratuitous shots of the cutest girl we know:

Here’s one from this past week and one from C’s first month of life for comparison:

Maybe it’s just me, but she looks like a giant kid these days.  Like a kid, I tell you, not a baby.  It’s crazy how she’s changing so fast!

Okay, I’ll try to do better about posting more often in the coming weeks.  It’s tough to find time these days!
